Deltona Parade

Saturday the boys and I went to the Deltona Days Parade. It was a very cute parade with police and firetrucks, floats, marching bands, Mickey and Minnie Mouse and a bunch of people throwing candy. We brought Ty's list he wrote to Santa as the elves in the parade were collecting them from all the children to give to Santa. Then, of course, at the end was Santa riding on a big float. It was a great way to start off the holiday season!

Zoo Picnic

Last Sunday, Tyler's school had a church service and picnic at the zoo. The service was very sweet. The kids sat with their class and teachers up in the choir loft and sang praise songs. Then the pastor read a bible story and gave a little message. It was neat how they made it all about the kids. Nana, Papa and our friend Lauren and her baby Braylen joined us for the day.
After the service everyone met at the Central Florida Zoo for a picnic, and then we walked around the zoo. We had a really nice day, and it was beautiful weather!

Tuck, newest family member

Tyler's new pet, Tuck the turtle. He got it at the fair. He was so excited when I showed him the turtles. Then he realized you could buy them and he said, in the cutest voice ever, "Mommy, they're for saaaaale?" Then he showed Nana and of course, she obliged. Setting up the aquarium with Daddy

Halloween Party

Wes and I went to some friends' Halloween party last Saturday. As you may know, Mom made a Rainbow Bright constume for me when I was little. So we were both pretty excited when we came across this costume. Wes dressed as a psych ward patient with a crazy mask. We had a lot of fun!

Lil' Pumpkin

Last weekend we drove out to Zellwood near Mt. Dora. There's a farm out there that has a corn maze. However, everyone else in the world decided to go that day too so we passed on walking through the maze. We did walk around the market and then took a hay ride. They also had a bunch of pumpkins and we decided to add ours to the patch!

First Feeding

Well I finally started Jakey on baby food-rice cereal. He loved it! And of course big brother wanted to help feed him.

Cutest Jags fans EVER!

Last weekend the boys were decked out in their Jags jerseys to support Daddy's team!

Splash Park

Last week Tyler didn't have school so I took the boys and we met up with our friends Lauren and her baby Braylen at Tyler's favorite restaurant (MOES') for lunch. Then we went to Orange City Memorial Park. There is a big open area with a playground, swings and a splash park. We had a really good time!

Disney World

Last Sunday we went to Disney World with Wes' Aunt Patti, Uncle Larry and cousin Luke. Wes' mom Terri watched Jake for us so we didn't have to tote him around Disney. We had a really great time!

4 Months

Jacob is 4 months old today! Man time flies-even faster when you have multiple kids! We went to the DR. today for Jake's checkup. He now weighs 15 lbs 10.5 oz. and is 25.5 inches long. He's a big boy. Doc said he's above avg in length and weight. He had to get a couple yucky shots but was so brave and only cried for a few seconds. All in all, one healthy boy!

Then this afternoon Jake was playing on the floor of his room with big brother. I was taking some super cute pics (see below), and he rolled over for the first time!!! It was so cute!!!!!!!!

So today was a big day for little (or not so little) man! YAY!

Parent Orientation

We had parent orientation at Tyler's preschool Thursday night-makes it all that much more real! It was fun though. We played games and did arts and crafts...felt like we were the preschoolers... :o) It was nice to meet some of the other parents and staff, and hear about some of the fun things planned for the year. Also, the preschool is celebrating 30 years this year!! I had no idea they had been around that long...interesting. We really like the atmosphere there and are looking forward to the coming year!
This picture is Wes' name tag he made. We had to rip a piece of construction paper into a shape that represented us... I wanted you all to see his mad craft skills, and his smarts in making a perfect perforation to tear along using a single ball point pen. Look out MacGyver! :o)

Officially a Preschooler

Well Tyler has officially finished his first week at school. He was a little nervous at first, but now he loves it!!! We are so excited for him. He comes home everyday talking about what they did and singing songs that he learned. He sure is growing up fast. I can't believe he's in school already. But I must say its an exciting adventure to watch our little ones grow and learn new things. We are so proud of our TyTy!

Tyler riding his new big kid bike we got for him-early birthday present. Now we just need to work on ditching the training wheels.

Tired again

Well things were going well in the sleep department, at least at night. However, now Jake is waking again in the middle of the night. I think he's going through a growth spurt because he has been eating more and will down a whole bottle when he wakes in the early a.m. He is napping but also wakes a couple of times during the course of a nap...?? O well...I guess it would be too boring if he were as easy a baby as Ty was. Hopefully things will work themselves out soon!
Jake has however been getting more active. He's talking more and we have great conversations! He giggles and laughs out loud-so cute!! And is starting to reach out and grab things. I can't believe how fast he's growing!

Anything for some sleep...

So Jacob has been sleeping through the night for the past week or so now. Its wonderful! However, he has now decided that he doesn't want to nap. He fights like a mad man as soon as I even think about puting him down. He can read my mind! I really blame it all on the fact that I believe he's teething. Poor little thing seems downright miserable sometimes. Nothing seems to help either..tylenol, baby oragel, teething rings...nothing. Yesterday he napped from about 12:30-4. Sounds pretty good, right? Except for the fact that he woke up about 6 times during that period. And its not that he doesn't need naps now that he's sleeping longer at night. You can see how tired his droopy little eyes are. So today I once again tried to get him to nap. And once again, seemed to be failing. I was just about to give up and go for a ride, thinking he may get a breif snooze in the car. But then his heavy eyes began to shut...and he quickly drifted off to sleep. Finally! I left him in his bouncy chair on the kitchen table not wanting to do anything to disturb him. Was this too good to be true? YES, it was. 10 minutes later he was up again. So for my last attempt I brought Mr. no-snoozies into my room, proping him up on my pillow (trying to make him as comfy as possible despite the fact that this is a forbidden act) and lay down next to him. I gently rubbed his nose until he was soon asleep again. Then the wonderful baby "startle" reflexes kicked in...hands flying up in the air, binky shooting across the bed, jolting him from his unattainable slumber. YOU WILL SLEEP, BABY! I retrieved the pasifier plopping it back in baby's mouth, holding it in place with one hand. The other hand I placed across baby's arms, gently holding them down. And there I lay, in that same position, for the next hour and a half...all in the name of sleep.

So Quiet

My little Ty Ty is gone to St. Louis with Nana and Papa, so its just Jakey and me. The house is soooo quiet. It feels like Ty's been gone for a week already! Jake has been in a pretty good mood today. Its a nice break from his recent crankiness. It must be all the sleep he's been getting. He slept really well again last night-almost 9 1/2 hours! Or maybe he just likes having Mommy all to himself! :o) Whatever it is, I'm just glad to see that he's happier today and feeling better. Going to be a long couple of days, since Daddy has to work, but maybe I'll actually get a few things done. :o)

And then there was sleep...

Jakey slept 8 hours last night!!! I got 6! I was starting to forget what it was like to get multiple hours of consecutive sleep. It was heavenly... I don't know if it will be a continuing trend but I'll take what I can get. :o)

Pictures!

I bought Jakey a Bumbo seat today since he loves to sit up and look around. He has a bit more neck work to do but I think he likes it! Also, here's a couple more pictues of the boys. Enjoy!
